A series of 2-part ogrody-green paintings (mostly 2,50 x 2,50 m) based on the model of authentic, mostly Ottonic crucifixes.

The Image of Christ
In these paintings the figure of Christ seems to hover and float in the air. The fragile and soft lines are particularly striking. The extremeties seem to dive underneath the colour and reappear. Christ's head and body are bent, and his feet stand slightly apart. The contours of the figure in light and shade are flowing. There is no cross, and there are no assisting figures. There are no indications of ground, sky or earth in the painting. It is a pure presentation of Christ in and in front of the background. Here the style and the technique of painting become the medium for understanding.
