Apart of me  The artistic dynamics of figure, colour and surface are characteristic of the great effect of these paintings and drawings. Jacques Gassmann develops a maximum of colourfulness out of black and white. Jacques Gassmann penetrates into the depth of the ground of his painting by removing the substance of colour with water. All the colours he uses grow out of black. His motif, his figures are developed out of a drawing. His protagonists are highlighted by the contrast between abstract and concrete, between painting and drawing.
